Super Cats

October 26th, 2004

Bonus day, you get 2 posts. Just got this link from a friend. Genetically engineered cats. While the idea is cool, especially since I’m allergic to cats, it just seems inherently wrong. I have visions of super engineered cats taking over the world, and nobody can stop them. Or maybe I’m thinking of some bad B-rate movie plot. Who knows? :?

Update:
Be sure to check out the Pricing/Reservation section. Me thinks a scam is coming.

Pain to come

October 26th, 2004

Wow, this site is still here? Alright, well let’s see… what’s going on? Oh, the cat almost killed itself on Sunday. Little bugger somehow caught her whole lower jaw under her collar. With it not being the break away kind it did make for some interesting contortions by her. I on the other hand took some good wounds while trying to untie her. For the most part she realized I was trying to help, but she’s still a cat and was generally pissed at the whole ordeal. The big problem was the clasp was in her mouth. Finally slid it around and got the collar off. In related news, she goes under the knife, or more precisly the laser tomorrow to get her claws out. Not a happy kitty tomorrow.
In other news, I get to be knocked out on Friday and get a wisdom tooth pulled. Unhappy Eddie on Friday. So me and the cat will be recouping this weekend. Any good DVD rentals I should get?

Back from Vacation

October 14th, 2004

So the family and I hopped on an airplane last Thursday and headed to Viva Las Vegas!! A friend was getting married there and my wife was the maid of honor. So we pulled the kid out of school for a couple days and headed down there. It was a good time, although I don’t care how much they say Vegas is family friendly, it’s really not. Besides Circus Circus there just isn’t that much to do for the kids. So the wife and I decided we’ll have to visit again without an 8 year old in tow.
So after a few days there, we rented a car and headed to the coast to Santa Barbara to visit my wife’s friend. That was a good time, nice area. So since we were close, we took a visit to Disneyland. We were able to keep it a surprise from the kid until we drove into the gates. She was pretty happy about it and had a great time. But I’ve gotta say, it has changed since I was a kid. Most notably the price. For a 1-day, 1-park pass for 2 adults and a kid… $140!! Just to walk in the gates. Man that was an expensive day. And being the off season, while the lines were fairly short, which was nice, some of the attractions were closed for maintenance. So the Matterhorn, Cinderella’s Castle, and Space Mountain were the most notible things closed. THAT was irritating. They could have at least posted it so you know BEFORE paying an arm and a leg to get in. But we still enjoyed our time there and were able to get most of the rides in before having to leave. Quite a bit of stuff to pack into 5 days. Man I need another vacation.
